Recently we received two lovely poems from Sharon, following her stay at Woodlay with her husband Neil. Sharon wrote to us and said:

Harvey's Big Catch

Hi Paul. Just to say thank you again for a great week, even the weather was great which is a change for the UK! Harvey.

Here are some photos of the carp which we caught in August.

Kieran the youngest is 12, and Will is 15. Kieran caught 7 fish - 6 trout and 1 carp (approx 6lb). Will caught 25 fish including his personal best of 18lb 9oz carp. Graham caught numerous carp between 4lb and 8lb and I also got my personal best at 5lb 8oz.

We all had a great holiday, even though the weather wasn't too good. Many thanks, Jen and Graham Bale.

Toby's Big Catch!

Toby and Jan are our most regular visitors and come back for the peace and tranquillity as well as the fishing. During his most recent visit Toby caught one of the big carp in Woodland lake.

"380lb in One Wonderful Week"

Firstly thanks to you both for a wonderful week at what I think is one of the most relaxing and beautiful places in Cornwall. Sue, the children Kallum and Kelly and I had a great week....

Briefly Kallum and I had about 50 Carp in mainly the 8-14lb mark made up of Mirrors, Commons and the odd beautiful Linear Mirror Carp, total weight for the week was approx. 380lb absolutely brilliant fishing ! On one day alone on Woodland lake Kallum caught 11 Carp for 110lb whilst I only managed the one Carp of 12lb 8oz.

Max catches a 18lb.7oz Mirror carp

Max caught this 18lb.7oz Mirror carp on a strawberry 15 mm bollie at the Woodlay Fishing Holiday resort in Cornwall.

Max is 14 years old and a keen if not obsessive fisherman, Max has had only limited fishing in the bigger fishing world so to speak, it was caught on 5th August 2008.

To quote him "It had been the one I had been dreaming about all week, just brill!"
