Easter Fishing at Woodlay
We have been coming to Woodlay around Easter time for around 10 years and visiting for nearly 30, but the last two years we have seen a massive improvement to both the accommodation and the fishing we all love the changes that have made to Woodlay and look forward to each visit to see what else has been done.
Mikey and I come for the fishing and every year we have a bet who can catch the most fish and this year I got well and truly thrashed.
In a six day period I was very pleased with my 120Ibs with a nice 12Ib common. Mikey on the other had used floating dog biscuit all week and stalked fish between the Lodge side, Island and Woodland Lake and caught a massive 345lbs with a number of really good double figure Carp and his biggest fish to date a 17.5lb common. Thanks for a great time and we look forward to coming back soon.

15 new carp, all in double figures and waiting to be caught arrived a couple of weeks ago.

Paul has been very busy during the last few weeks with his digger and has scraped away the mud and laid new paths round the lakes as well as cutting back the undergrowth to give more light and space for the fishing and to allow the primroses, foxgloves and bluebells to re emerge. It is looking very smart and the lodge has been tidied up inside and out. Hilary was given some Rhododendrons for Christmas and so the beginnings of a Rhododendron bed is starting down the side of the drive.
